Welcome...to a unique river festival

The Kennebec Celebration seeks to bring people together in an educational and entertaining atmosphere to recognize the beauty of the Kennebec River in Maine.  The festival highlights the important role the Kennebec River plays in Maine’s history, cultural heritage, anadromous fish migration and the fishing industry, as a source of food and habitat for birds of prey and wildlife, and to the enhanced quality of life it brings to local communities and to people that simply come to enjoy it for the day.

The ecological recovery of the Kennebec is a remarkable story about a once vibrant river that nearly died due to pollution but has fought its way back thanks to those who sought, and are still striving today, to preserve this beautiful resource.

Come...enjoy the festival and all that it has to offer....but most of all, enjoy a day by the river!
